Broker Connection Agreement
This applies when you connect your own brokerage account to Greeks Vault. It forms part of the Terms of Use.
1. What a connection is
- Charles Schwab: you sign in on Schwab's own page and authorise Greeks Vault for your account. Schwab issues tokens to us; we never see your password. Schwab requires re-authorisation periodically (currently every 7 days); we show the countdown and the connection stops working when it lapses.
- Interactive Brokers: IBKR offers no delegated sign-in for individuals, so your connection is an IB Gateway session that we run for you on the Platform using the login you provide. IBKR sends its two-factor prompt to your IBKR Mobile app when that session signs in. Your login is stored encrypted and is used only to keep that session alive.
- One connection per broker per account. Connections are personal to you; do not connect an account you are not authorised to trade.
2. What the Platform does with it
- Reads balances, positions and quotes to show your dashboard and to mark your positions.
- Submits, modifies and cancels orders only according to rules you configured or actions you took (fire, close, halt). It holds no discretion.
- Keeps an audit trail of every order it sent on your behalf and what the broker replied.
3. What it cannot do or guarantee
- It cannot make your broker accept an order, fill at a price, or execute during an outage on either side.
- It cannot prevent partial fills, rejects, timeouts or re-authorisation lapses. When these happen the Platform logs them, retries where safe, and shows the state — but you must verify with your broker.
- It does not withdraw, transfer or deposit money, and it has no access to your broker's banking functions.
4. Your obligations
- Keep your broker credentials and two-factor device secure; approve only prompts you expect.
- Comply with your broker's own API and account terms; they govern the account.
- Keep an independent way to view and close your positions.
- Disconnect promptly if you no longer want the Platform to act on the account. Disconnecting deletes the stored tokens or login.
5. Broker data
Quotes and account data obtained through your connection are for your use inside the Platform only and remain subject to your broker's data terms. See the Market Data Terms.
6. Liability
The limitations in the Terms of Use apply. In particular we are not liable for broker actions, connection failures, or losses on positions the Platform could not open, adjust or close.
